Custom Injection-Molded Components

Custom Injection-Molded Plastic Components for Industrial Applications

Xiamen Goldcattle Plastic & Metal Products Co., Ltd. manufactures custom plastic components from your drawings, material requirements and production specifications. From engineering review and material selection to mold development, trial molding and production inspection, each project is evaluated according to its part geometry, intended function and quality requirements.

Custom Plastic Parts Made to Your Requirements

We review custom injection-molded components against the requirements that determine their fit, function and manufacturing feasibility — not against a generic list of materials. The areas below are what we confirm before quoting.

  • Part geometry: overall dimensions, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, mounting holes, undercuts and assembly interfaces.
  • Material requirements: resin grade, mechanical properties, wear conditions, temperature exposure, chemical contact and appearance.
  • Dimensional requirements: critical features, mating clearances, drawing tolerances and inspection methods.
  • Tooling requirements: expected production volume, mold configuration, tooling life and planned design revisions.
  • Production requirements: sample approval, repeat orders, inspection documentation, packaging and delivery schedule.

If the material or manufacturing route has not yet been finalized, provide the intended application and operating conditions. Our engineering review can identify the information needed to evaluate suitable options before tooling is committed.

Choosing the Right Plastic for Strength and Wear Resistance

The best resin depends on the actual operating conditions, not simply on whether a material is described as strong or wear-resistant. The table below is a set of selection directions; the final grade is confirmed against your part's load, speed, contact material, lubrication, temperature and service life.

Material familyPotential reason for selection, and what must be confirmed
POM / AcetalLow friction, dimensional stability and sliding or rotating components — confirm grade, shrinkage, load, mating surface and operating temperature.
PA / NylonToughness, mechanical strength and impact resistance — confirm moisture absorption, dimensional change and conditioning.
Reinforced PAHigher stiffness and strength for suitable structural applications — confirm fibre orientation, warpage, mating-surface wear and dimensions.
PEEK or PPSApplications with specific thermal, chemical or mechanical demands — confirm resin cost, molding capability and processing requirements.
ABS, PC or PPWhere impact resistance, appearance, toughness or cost is the priority — the selected grade may not suit every wear-critical duty.
On wear performance: a resin that performs well in one application may not suit another. For wear-critical components we ask for the load, speed, contact material, lubrication condition, temperature and expected service life, and where necessary establish a test plan using the actual mating components and operating conditions. We do not claim a generic "wear-resistant" property for every molded part.

For a decision-oriented reference, see our materials page.

From Design Review to Injection-Molded Parts

The same six steps apply whether the part is a bracket, a housing or a wear-exposed component. We inspect against the drawing and the agreed acceptance criteria rather than against a single general precision claim.

Step 01

Requirement Review

Review the CAD model, material specification, critical dimensions, expected volume and application conditions.

Step 02

DFM

Evaluate wall thickness, draft, ribs, bosses, gate locations, ejection and shrinkage or warp risks.

Step 03

Tooling Proposal

Define mold configuration, tooling material and cavity arrangement from part design and demand.

Step 04

Tooling & Trial

Manufacture the mold and conduct trial molding per the agreed project scope.

Step 05

Inspection

Compare trial parts with the approved drawing and acceptance criteria; record deviations and apply agreed corrections.

Step 06

Production Release

Begin production after sample approval and required quality checks are completed.

Components are molded on standard injection equipment; cavity count, resin and process are set by the part and the volume.

Dimensional Consistency and Quality Verification

A molded part is evaluated against its drawing and functional requirements, not a single blanket tolerance. Before production we identify critical-to-quality features — mounting holes, locating surfaces, mating clearances, sealing interfaces and other dimensions that affect assembly or performance.

  • Dimensional inspection of specified critical features.
  • Visual inspection for flash, sink marks, warpage and surface defects.
  • Material identification or material documentation where required.
  • First-article or trial-part inspection against the approved drawing.
  • Agreed sampling and inspection criteria for repeat production.
On tolerances: mold-making features are machined to a qualified tolerance, but the dimensions of a molded part are also affected by resin shrinkage, part geometry, processing conditions and process stability. Critical-to-quality features are identified on the drawing and verified by an agreed method — no single tolerance is assumed to apply to every feature or every molded part. Inspection methods, limits and reporting are agreed before production release.

FAQ

What information is needed for a custom injection-molded part quote?
A 2D drawing or 3D CAD model, resin specification, target quantities, critical dimensions and delivery requirements are the most useful starting points. If the material or production route is undecided, provide the intended function and operating conditions for an initial engineering review. The more of these are defined, the more accurate the tooling and unit-cost estimate becomes.
Which plastic is best for high-strength, wear-resistant components?
There is no universally best resin. POM may be suitable for low-friction applications, PA may be evaluated for toughness and strength, and reinforced or high-performance polymers may fit more demanding conditions. The final choice depends on the specific grade, geometry, load, speed, lubrication and temperature, and is confirmed per project rather than assumed for every part.
Can injection-molded parts meet tight dimensional tolerances?
Yes, where the part design, resin, tooling and molding process permit. Critical dimensions and acceptance limits should be identified on the drawing and verified using an agreed inspection method. A single tolerance should not be assumed to apply to every feature or molded part, because molded dimensions are also affected by resin shrinkage, geometry, process conditions and stability.
Should I choose injection molding or CNC machining?
Injection molding is often suitable when recurring volumes justify the tooling investment and the geometry suits molding. CNC machining may be preferable for early prototypes, low quantities or certain tight-tolerance features. The practical choice depends on volume, geometry, material and required delivery schedule, and we can advise on the route per project.
Can Goldcattle manufacture parts from customer drawings?
Yes. We manufacture to customer 2D/3D drawings and specifications, reviewing the part for moldability and function before quoting. The supported file format, material grade, manufacturing process and inspection requirements are confirmed for the specific project at quotation.
